"I don't mind giving you my blood. I never considered myself human and as far as I see it. You can drink my blood and keep a hold on the little humanity you had left."John said to her. He looked around trying to make sure that no one would notice.

"How did you know about that?" Shan siad looking up at him. The glasses slipped dwon her nose, revealing her eyes. She gave them back, used to the light now.

John took the glasses and stuck them in his coat pocket. "The way you attacked that rabbit. I was watching when you drank its blood and then I remembered some books I read once. I think it was something called the Cirque Du Freak series...."John said to her now remebering how the main character of those books tried to hold on to the humanity he had left.

"Oh... Yeah... I read those. I had the movie, too," she said. "But I'm not Darren Shan. And I'm not Larten Crepsley, either. I mean, I want to keep it as long as possible. But I know that one day... I've got to let it go. I can't keep it as long as I'd like... Because pretty soon, it'll be gone. Whether I drink blood or not."

John sighed and nodded understanding what she was saying. "Where...where you giving a choice....when you got turned?"John asked.

Shan looked down again. "Not really. I was dying. I had been involved in an accident... Then someone saved me. They turned me and here I am. I hate it but here I am. i have to admit it's better than being dead... Well... dead dead."

"Oh...Well at least you're here now. Otherwise we'd never be able to get to know each other."John said to her.

This made Shan smile. "I'd like that."

The waitress came back with the food. She brought a trolley for John, because of his vast order.

"That'll be-" started the waitress but Shan pulled out the hypnotising eyes thing.

"Free... Out of your own wage..." Shan said.

When the waitress walked away again, Shan sagged. Her skin was like marble and it was cold like stone.

"You sure you dont want some of my blood. I can mix it in your drink so you wont notice it if you want."John asked her after seeing how pale she went. He grabbed some of his plates of food and ate them as if they had always had nothing on them.

"Maybe... later..." she said, her voice weak. her hands shook as she lifted her burger to her lips.

John raised an eyebrow and finished his meak without even trying really. He looked at her and saw easily that she was shaking way to much. He wanted to help her but he didn't want her to hate him either.

"I can't..." she said and dropped the burger. She was breathing. She realised she was breathing. "Oh no... I'm breathing..."

As fast as she could, she went and checked for a pulse. It was there. "No..."

"Now I'm not asking."John said he took one of his drinks and a knife. He made a cut in the palm of his hand and lets his blood drip into the drink. He stirred it up and handed it to her. "Drink it. Please dont argue. Just drink."He said handing the glass to her.

She took it, frowning as she sipped it. It tasted good... She drank more... The pulse slowed... her breathing stopped... And her eyes were animal and wild. Her fangs popped out and her pupils dilated.

John let a few more drops of blood fall into her drink and then wrapped up his cut with some cloth. "Better now?"He asked her.

Shan looked at him. Her pupils looked unbelievably big... She smiled at him, her fangs showing. "Of course... Why wouldn't I be?"

There's a little girl inside the monster, and she's trying to break free, she's hunted through the night, heard every kind of scream. But how was John to know what she could become with just a few drops of his blood running through her system?

John raised an eyebrow and then looked around and saw all the people that were staring. 'Tch. Annoying people. Cant they mind there own buisness.' He thought as he pulled out his glasses and put them on. "Shan. We better leave. Before people start asking questions."He said getting up and placing all the dishes on the trolly. He left a few dollars for the waitress and then walked over to Shan. "Come on.."He said.

John left but he glimpsed back at Shan for a second and saw how she was eyeing his neck, he moved his jacket to reveal his gun and said to Shan, "Don't go crazy on me here ok."

She didn't answer. She just followed. She got out of the diner before he did by speeding up.

John chased after her not wanting to lose her outside. After all he gave her his blood.

John stopped when he saw her smile at him. He raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything.
